Origins of Greentree
It is Brady’s passion to work with individuals from all walks of life as they learn to water their roots and discover how to unlock the potential of themselves. Brady named his private practice Greentree Counseling to represent the holistic approaches to stress relief and mental health responses. Both trees and our neurological system need large and expansive roots to support themselves and grow. Just like a tree we can grow and expand our neurological system to support the growth of ourselves.
Who benefits from Greentree’s services?
Are You Feeling stuck or having insurmountable amounts of dread/anxiety? Do you have challenges with PTSD, toxic stress, secondary trauma, self-esteem, motivation, substance use, anxiety, depression or other mental health responses? I use strength-based perspectives such as Polyvagal Theory and EMDR for adults, teens, and LGBTQIA populations. Unlock the power of yourself and breakthrough old challenges and habits through holistic practices designed to strengthen your body and mind. Both EMDR and Somatic Techniques are designed to activate your neurological system for optimal healing and strength in your life.
Why Choose EMDR and Somatic Techniques?
Brady practices EMDR and somatic techniques as he finds they are more effective than traditional talk therapies. In practice, he has seen more progress made with EMDR and somatic therapies than with talk therapy. Our nervous system and Vagus nerve retains the information and memories of our past which impacts our current responses to the environment such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Both EMDR and somatic techniques are designed to target, reroute, or grow those neurons and release the stored energy allowing you to obtain or let go of the behaviors and thoughts you desire.
EMDR is easily researched and an evidence-based practice that has a successful effective rate of around 80 percent when peer-reviewed for PTSD. Unfortunately, traditional talk therapies have a successful effective rate of around 20 percent when peer-reviewed.
Brady personally practices these techniques because they align with his worldview and experiences with natural holistic practices and the experience of our memories and energies.
“I enjoy Polyvagal theory and somatic practices as they are in some senses the modern American scientific explanation of energy storage, chakras, and unlocking old memories.”
